PLEASE WELCOME OUR NEW PASTOR

Hi, everyone! My name is Diane Flynn and I am honored to be chosen to serve God together with you at Crafton U.P. Church. I am a lifelong Presbyterian who grew up in Hickory, PA in Washington County. Instead of singing nursery rhymes as a child, I sang old hymns I learned in church and at home while singing with my father.

God called me into the ministry later in life than your typical seminary student. After graduating from Fort Cherry High School, I received a dual Bachelors in Elementary & Early Childhood Education from California University of PA, a Masters in Human Resources Management from St. Francis University, and a Masters of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

In December 1987, I married Shawn Flynn. We made our home in Canonsburg, PA and were happily married for 21 years until his untimely death on Dec. 26, 2008 in a tractor trailer accident.

I moved to Carnegie in 2012.  I enjoyed a 15-year career in Human Resources in the corporate sector as an HR Generalist, Consultant, and Manager before following the call from God into ordained ministry. Prior to my seminary career, I attended Canonsburg U.P. Church, serving as a Ruling Elder and/or chaired several committees at the church and presbytery levels including: Personnel, Pulpit Nominating, Strategic Planning, and New Church Development. When time permits, I enjoy music (Iā€™m an alto), spending time with family (I have a big extended one) and traveling. To date, I have travelled to 29 states and 9 countries.

God showed me anyone can be called into servant ministry no matter their circumstance in life.  Jeremiah 29:11 says, ā€œFor I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.ā€

I look forward to the plans God has in store for our church as we walk alongside one another and serve God together.

Peace,

Diane Flynn
